My plea - #2

Each year the New Jersey Council for the Humanities (http://www.njch.org/) awards a few selected libraries with a collection of non-fiction NJ subject based books that won outstanding awards. Any library is open to apply and my library decided to put our ticket in.

I was asked to write the proposal in attempt to win these books for our library. The winning libraries will have a fancy dinner in the fall to be presented the collection. I really hope Im going to such event:)

The Little Movie that Could (#1 New Thing)

Watching the Oscars last week I was reminded of several movies I desired to see or had never heard of and needed to see. On the top of my list was the Irish movie Once that has been dubbed by Hollywood as the "the little movie that could". It is a very simple story line - two muscians meet, a young girl who is married with a child and a single slightly older guy who is searching for his beloved ex. They make music together and really touch one another's lives. Its such a basic story but really touches the heart. I highly recommend it to EVERYONE as I feel everyone will get something out of it. If not, at least the music in is worth listening to.
So today on my b-day I watched Once... once.

Happy Birthday to my favorite guy - Alex Bell

Figures I would share the birthday with the man who invented a way for people to talk and socialize more....

I heart Google's icon today

Today is also the start of my project to document one new thing per day until my next birthday, when I turn (gulp!) 30.

Every Art Historian's Dream...

This Sunday, March 2nd I will be going to the PMA with my mom to see a show of Frida Kahlo's work. Sigh.... I have loved her work and have NEVER seen any of it in real life. This will really string at my heart.

CLAP YOUR FEET!

Yeah!! Just got tickets to see Tilly and The Wall in Philly in mid March with a new galpal Emily Rae who is J.'s and I friend Pawel's girl friend.

Hopefully I won't be a dork this time like I was when I met Jamie (the tap dancer). I purchased a sticker from her which I thought was a cool book mark. I told her I was a librarian and she tried to be kind about my mistake and didn't know what to say except "Oh, I guess you like books then. Thanks for coming, bye now!" Haaa..

YEAAHH!! TILLY & THE WALL!!:)

I wish I could be a California Girlllll!

Came back from my AWESOME trip to L.A. earlier this week. I will give a day by day run w/ photos in a few days. Including going to DisneyLand, San Diego, and the Getty Museum.
The only negative thing I learned on this trip is to NEVER EVER USE CHEAPTICKETS.COM EVER AGAIN!!! It should be EVIL Tickets.com.

Anyways... here is a photo of me with Orka Veer (http://www.myspace.com/orkaveer) AKA Mike whom was so kind to lend his bed to Emily and I while we crashed at Dave and his old place. I am trying out In N Out Burger for the first time in this photo - it was YUCKY!:P. But my photo buddy wasn't! Haaaaa. (U R HOT! Haaaa).
