I can't even see dead people #32

A month ago J. and I were doing our taxes when a question asking if one of us were legally blind came up. He jokingly teased me that one day I would say Yes to that answer. My eyesight is BAD. On my contacts box my prescription is -8.5. I have never met anyone worse than -7.0. So today I went for my eye check up and finally asked "what is my natural eyesight number?" I know 20/20 is perfect.. but what am I? 20/40000? I found out there is no number for my sight because with out my glasses or contacts I am legally blind!! Well, I am not technically sight disabled since I have corrective lenses, but if I didn't I would be able to function. I only see fingers and everything else is a blur. I am so bad I can't get lasik as of right now. But the good news is my eyes are stabilizing.

To give you an example here are two photos of what it kind of looks like to me when I don't have my glasses/contacts.

The flower/tire photo that is blurry is still a bit clear than what I would see. The other one is what the roads at night look when I am in the passenger seat in a car and take off my glasses. I always wonder if VanGogh was a bit nearsighted because his stars in his paintings tend to look like what lights in the sky looks like to a poorly sighted person.
